Tips to Maintaining Your Color
Find a dry shampoo that works for you. Refreshing your hair without shampooing will help keep the color vibrant for longer.
For less tangles after shampooing, scrub your scalp and let the shampoo make its way down the hair shaft. Shampooing in circles starting at the ends will give you needless tangles.
Use bottled water to get your hair wet, or lather your hair with conditioner before entering a pool. If your hair is already soaking wet when you go into a pool, it won’t soak up the chlorine in the water, which is what can turn blonde hair green.
Be careful with heat! Because blonde hair is more dried out to begin with, heat styling can take a real toll if you don’t use a protective spray or lay off the blow dryer every now and again. This is where the dry shampoo really comes in handy! Make one blow dry- last twice as long :)
Deep condition often. If you’ve bleached your hair to be a blonde, you’ve already stripped it of some color and moisture. Keep your hair feeling healthy and strong by finding a deep conditioner that you LOVE.
Want the soft beautiful hair you have when you are leaving the salon?? USE THE SAME PRODUCTS! Professional products are used in salons for a reason- THEY WORK!
Use hair oil to moisturize blonde hair. Concentrate it on your mid lengths and ends, which are what need the extra TLC.
After shampooing- rinse with cold water for a smoother finish. Cool water seals the cuticle allowing it to retain the moisture it needs. While hot water feels great, and helps rinse away product build up and dirt, it can fade color faster, and cause extra frizz by rinsing away needed moisture!
Get regular trims! To avoid breakage and losing length, get a trim every 6-8 weeks to get rid of the dead ends before they break off.
